Culture for the Free People
Derived from the understanding that increased cultural expansion amplifies social progression, Theatre for the Free People’s Culture Club acts as a tool implemented as perhaps the subtlest yet most effective means of social activism. Culture for the Free People (CFP) uses education partnered with cross-cultural exposure to provoke intellectual awareness and enhance a general consciousness in the community. Through an assortment of calendared activities illuminating various cultural norms and origins, CFP provides an open journey for all its members to embark.
Culture for the Free People acts with the intentions of:
- Providing educational outreach and workshops for communities of NYC and the 5 boroughs.
- Mentoring with youth and youth based institutions
- Providing free, creative, and artistic activities around the city
CFP has an ever evolving and expanding list of scheduled activities that for its members to participate in, including yet not limited to:
- Vegan/ Vegetarian Cooking Classes
- Fashion Tutorials
- Guided tours of The MET, Museum of Modern Arts, etc.
- Brooklyn and Bronx Zoo
- The New York Botanical Gardens
- Camping
- Japanese Tea Ceremonies
- English High Tea
- Writing workshops
- Acting and Dance Classes
- Yoga
- Interview and Resume workshops
- Book clubs
- Horse back riding in Brooklyn
- Film events
Membership to Theatre for the Free People’s Culture Club is in no form contingent on any particular age, race, sex, sexual orientation, or religious belief.
